Which came first, the idea for the character or the pun?

i had a "gladiator by committee" idea a ways back, but then drew an alligator man and thought it would be cool to call him "instagator" and then figured he could react instantly with that much brain power.

Man this kicks ass. I will say that your render looks a little grainy, but it might actually look even better because of that. Lighting is fantastic too. Great work!

Thanks! Yeah the bottom image is super grainy because it was late and I couldnt spend another hour on optimizing the render. Redshift is a bitch!

It's great that you're trying 3d animation, but it's superfluous here. If anything it takes away from the scene. Lovin' your style though, the asymmetrical/hand drawn look of the furnishings is a lot of fun!

Thanks so much! Imma be real tho, the reason I did this was because I was gonna draw it, but I got frustrated and decided to make some 3d models instead to practice having a 2d character in a 3d space for future projects. Thank you for the feedback tho! I'll try and make the 3d more of an actual part of the piece next time I do somethin like this!
